Oklahoma University Students Shouldn’t have been Expelled? – David Webb

Sparks Ignite In this One folks:  Both David Webb and Michael Meyers take the position that the University of Oklahoma should NOT have expelled the SAE students for making a racist video based upon their 1st Amendment rights. Watch and judge for yourself if you agree.

At first, I was in favor of the expulsion of the fraternity boys and the removal of the fraternity from campus. Michael Meyers and David Webb changed my mind to some degree. How is it that university officials did not notice heretofore that the chapter was ALL white??? However, as much as I despise their chanting (which shows their deep feelings – not just a MISTAKE on their part), I need to agree with Michael and David in that the boys should NOT have been expelled. Rather, the fraternity should have been (as it was) removed from the campus. Furthermore, I hate it when my friends use hateful speech on Facebook to “criticize” opposing parties, but I uphold their right to do so.

I wish Hannity would not interrupt. And I agree with Michael Myers and Mr. Webb people have the right to be stupid.

    • Marcy

Hannity has to interrupt, he’s self absorbed. Can’t bear his rudeness.

      • dohfugwimee

Hate to skew conversation but have to agree wholeheartedly!
Hannity.. love his conservative values…but shut up!…
Always interrupts to preen his own feathers.. yeah..yeah i have always said that!..yeah I always say..yeah.. gawd
        Anyways… sorry for “my” interruption.

        • Alberta

At least he say sorry for the interruption and not screaming at the top of his lungs abt something that has nothing to do with the question that was asked.

      • Alberta

Hannity interrupts because they are on at temper tantrum and not answering the question

Stopped watching and listening to Hannity a long time ago.

At UCLA a group of students (Palestinian activists) just voted to deny another
student an educational opportunity because she is Jewish.
None of the students have been expelled or disciplined.UCLA student is latest victim of anti-Semitism on campus
Thus it comes as a shock when at the University of California Los
Angeles, a Jewish woman student applicant for the Student Council’s
Judicial Board is initially rejected after being asked: “Given that you
are a Jewish student and very active in the Jewish community, how do you
see yourself being able to maintain an unbiased view?” According to The
New York Times, the discussion that
followed had “seemed to echo the kind of questions, prejudices and
tropes — particularly about divided loyalties — that have plagued Jews
    across the globe for centuries.”

    • Wasn’t there a similar incident at UC-Irvine?

      • gatekeeper96740

Yes. 2010 I had to look for it.

UC Irvine Muslim Student Union Suspended
Many in our community have waited a long time for UC Irvine officials to take action against the ongoing actions by the Muslim Student Union. Some thought it would never happen. Today’s blog is will certainly get your attention.
Jewish Federation Orange County announced this morning it has learned the results of UC Irvine’s judicial process. UCI has suspended the Muslim Student Union (MSU) for one year and placed it on disciplinary probation for an additional year. That’s not all. The MSU is also required to collectively complete 50 hours of community service. As a result, it will not be allowed to conduct organized campus events until at least the fall of 2011.

Here is what Shalom Elcott, the President of the Jewish Federation Orange County had to say about the decision.

High School Principal Excludes White Students From ‘Black Lives Matter’ Event

An Illinois high school principal is defending his decision to exclude
white students from a “Black Lives Matter” event held at his school.http://dailycaller.com/2015/03/07/high-school-principal-excludes-white-students-from-black-lives-matter-event/

    • A_Nobody

For which there is no defense.

  • David Wilkerson

White lives doesn’t matter anymore in this country. If this was black students on a bus saying this about white students the media wouldn’t cover it at all. Now who got the privileges now??

  • You know, they really do make a valid point. What if you had a group of guys singing rap songs about “bitches and hoes” and “beating my woman” and other songs or chants? Disgusting, yes, but also free speech.

Although the university does have a code of conduct and I suspect that there are limits on said free speech.

  • frank

free speech ! I would love to go see Michael myers speak the man does not see black or white he sees right and wrong

  • TheLight

Sorry, but their conduct reflects badly on the school as well as their fraternity and the Greek system as a whole. They had a right to take action against them. It isn’t that people’s feelings were hurt or that it was rude that got them expelled. The school stands to possibly lose state and federal funding if they allowed that kind of behavior and then everyone at the school suffers.

  • Alberta

I think they did the right thing. You may have freedom of speech but what ever happened to good judgement. Would they like it if a few black students started saying that the privileged white should not be in there group or be called crackers like Sharpton does. Didn’t their parents teach them good manners? .ids now think they can

  • Then why the hell should any school have rules? According to these idiots, anything goes.

  • Sarah Saunders

Sean. You are holding the white kids to a Higher Standard than “other” kids. The guys are right. Rap music is full of hate whitey, and they don’t get in any trouble. You are Appalled that the white kids did this. The argument is free speech vs morally right or wrong. It’s not illegal, but it’s morally reprehensible in your opinion – and mine too.

  • May flowers

And..we just have to go along, we don’t dare say a thing.

  • A_Nobody

Yes, people have the right to be stupid, but they also have the responsibility for their actions. In this case as in the others where Jewish people are being hatefully harassed, it shouldn’t be ignored and blown off as “free speech”. I don’t care if it’s white on black, black on white, or Palestinian or any other race on Jewish, you’re supposed to act in a civil manner. IF you do not, the school has the absolute right to remove you. It seems to be one word forgotten in this country today…….responsibility, that is.

  • Noah Rosenblum

Both David Webb and Michael Myers are right.

  • Wrightclick

Hannity is a true blue REPUBLICAN who is just as much a control-freak as any lefty. Not a conservative. It’s refreshing to see two black guys defending free speech while Hannity touts the fascist ideology without even realizing it.
